Publishing documents

Publishing documents is only available if the source vault is Meridian Enterprise. Publishing executes a custom function, the purpose of which is determined by your organization's requirements. The implementation of the function is done by a system administrator as described in the BlueCielo Web Parts Administrator's Guide. The typical implementation updates custom properties in the source vault to indicate that a revised document is available in the SharePoint library.

Note    Publishing documents with a web part is equivalent to releasing documents from a workflow in Meridian Enterprise. This is because checking out and checking in documents from a Meridian Enterprise source vault with a web part is equivalent to performing a Quick Change in Meridian Enterprise, for which there is no equivalent Release transition. That is, the documents are released immediately when they are checked in. The equivalent command when the source vault is ImandrA is Release.

To publish a document:

  1. Open the SharePoint library that contains the document that you want to publish.
  2. Point to the name of the document that you want to publish until the down arrow appears, click the down arrow, and select Publish. Whether any visible effect occurs depends on the implementation of the custom function.
